Course Description: Get 8 hours of CPE. This session will kick off with a walk-through of the Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs) effective in 2025, specifically those applicable to private companies, as well as updates on those coming down the pike to keep you up to date with the work of the FASB. Then, we will review the new quality management standards from the AICPA, with an emphasis on practical application and their impact on audit teams. Then, we will cover the AICPA’s recently issued exposure drafts on fraud and confirmations, as well as the impact of recent standard setting on the applicability of AR-C 70. After our lunch break, we will discuss current trends in the accounting profession, such as the accounting pipeline, private equity, AI, cryptocurrency, peer review, and changes to the licensing requirements. We will wrap up this training with by covering common deficiencies in risk assessment, analytical procedures, and sampling as noted from the AICPA’s Peer Review Program.
